We all got up early, and our chauffeur took us in our big Mercedes bus to Austria. This time we took the back roads through the countyside, avoiding the Autobahn, and through a few little towns along the way. Some of them had interesting names in English that mean nothing in German or Austrian. The first town we passes through was Wacker Smiley. This town comes shortly before the town of Fucking Smiley. Fucking isn't known for anything, except the sign at the entrance to the town which has had to be reinforced in concrete to prevent further theft (see picture). We only came in contact with one local, who turned out to be a bit of a crazy Fucker and didn't appreciate us being there.

From there we travelled on to Salzburg, a beautiful town that is well known for its being the birth place of Mozart. Michael travelled up the side of the mountain to the fortress which was very interesting and afforded a beautiful view of Salzburg from the highest parapet.

The others spent the afternoon shopping about and trying out some of the local offerings of food and beverage.

That evening was concluded by a visit to the Pils-dokter, and a lovely surprise visit from Boa and Uschi (two of Friedrich and Klaus' Romanian friends), who were able to steal themselves away from work to come and visit.
