Last night Frederick and I went to the little bar around the corner from their house. It is called the pils Dr. After supper I said to Frederick that I was not feeling very well and I should go to the Dr. for a pill. This Dr. is not like at home. I felt much worse after my visit there. We met some young students, studying to be Dentists and Doctors. The boys said that they wanted to play a drinking game. The loser pays. Guess who was the loser? I guess that I am getting old.
I had a late start to the day today as we did not get home until early in the morning. Both the boy's had work to do and I knew that neither of them really wanted to go to the zoo to see "THE STINKING ANIMALS:" so I convinced them that I could take the subway by myself. I left the house at lunch time and told them not to worry about me till at least 6:00 as the zoo closed at 5:00. The most trouble I had was getting the ticket out of the machine. There was no english on the machine at all. I asked an older lady if she could help but she spoke no English. The really" sad "part is that I have discovered that the very young good looking german boys all speak English.
I was a little disappointed in the zoo, but very glad that I had gone. You have to walk across a river before you get to the zoo and there were a lot of very nice swans swimming in the river. As you can see from the pictures the river is very low. Germany has had no snow this year.
I passed the market on the way home and I asked at this one stall if they had a goose. She said yes and put it in a bag. When I got home it was a duck. Klause really gave me a hard time about that. We cooked it for supper.
Klaus: You should Know the difference between a Goose and a Duck !!!!!
So that was our day. I went to bed pretty early. I am glad that I can now go alone in the subway, Klause was sure that I would be lost for 2 weeks down there, but they cannot get rid of me that easy.
