Day 15: The Concentration Camp at Dachau
Well today is my last day here in Munich. Klaus really thought that I should see the concentration camp. At this time I really cannot say much about it as it was very hard for me to be there. I am glad that I went but -oh well let the pictures explain. (Klaus did not attend)
Fredrick and I then went and had a nice breakfast out in a garden patio. I am really enjoying the nice weather that they are finally having now that I am going home.
We came home and I went out shopping for a few things for the grandchildren. It is very hard to find things when you can read nothing and cannot speak to anyone. Some of the younger people know some English, but not much if you are being really specific. I cannot write all the little crazy things that happened to me today on my own. I also had to go and get a stamp for a post card that I was sending to one of my friends in Fl. I went to the post office, the only place you can buy a stamp, and asked how much it would cost. I was told one Euro, but I could only get that from the machine. Here I go again with these machines that I cannot understand. I did however manage to get a stamp that cost 1.45 euro and one that cost .05. The machine does not give change, just stamps.
When I came home Klaus had cooked us a lovely dinner. Rabbit, duck breast,( a real one, not like the one I bought) green beans, (you have been complaining that you get no veg. here) sliced bohemian dumpling, g'röschtl, and oven baked potato wedges. We were all very full after dinner. It was great as usual Klaus.
Klaus then helped me pack, as he has had much more experience at doing this, he says nothing will get broken, we will see.
I have just had such a great time here with the boys. They have just pampered me like no one ever has. They have really gone to a lot of trouble to make sure that I had a really good time here. I hope that they have not neglected their work too much while I have been here. Fredrick's Mom and Dad have both been very good about calling us to see how things are going. They also called again tonight to wish me a safe flight home.
Everyone that I have met over here has been so friendly and nice to me even, if they cannot speak English very well.
I am sad to be going home, but it will also be nice to see everyone at home again. I am really not looking forward to the trip. I have been sitting reading here a bit so maybe that will help me on the long flight home.
Today was plus 20, a really nice summer day. I was hoping that all the snow would be gone, but I don't think so.
I hope that those of you that have been visiting the site have enjoyed it. I cannot thank Fredrick enough for all the work he has had to do to make this possible. He has done a great job. THANKS
That is it from me in Munich. Hope to see and talk to all of you soon. I would also just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to my staff. Without them none of this would have been possible.
